Betty’s gone and got her own pasty!

The love for Betty runs deep here in Cornwall, so much so that she has been granted the ultimate Cornish accolade; she’s been given her very own pasty!

The lovely people at Warren’s Bakery have combined a good glug of Betty Stogs ale with tasty steak in their latest creation, which we think sounds perfect fodder for these chilly winter days.

Long regarded as the ultimate beer match for a steak pasty, turns out our copper-coloured malty bitter is even better in a pasty! Betty’s now masquerading as lunch in a bakery near you – a great way to get your Cornish fix!

In Cornish folklore, Betty Stogs was reputedly full-bodied, golden-hearted and just a little fruity. Always at the centre of the party, we drew inspiration from Betty’s brazen ways when we first brewed this award-winning bitter back in 1997.

The recipe has stayed the same ever since, but the character has taken on a life of its own – always causing mischief and havoc! Betty appears at many events up and down Cornwall, raising huge amounts of money for charity in an attempt to make up for her questionable behaviour. She’s a loose cannon with a kind heart our Betty, and we wouldn’t have her any other way!

So, with a pint in one hand and a pasty in the other, let’s hear it for Betty Stogs – truly the Queen of Cornish ales!
