GOOD NEWS: Food is coming back to the Old Ale House. BAD NEWS: We’ve had to delay the reopening to 21st June to get this ready.
We don’t want to rush it and risk giving our amazing supporters a less than great experience. We only get one shot and we want to get it right! Which is why we’ve put reopening back until next month so that we can hit the ground running.
This hopefully means we can open both bars at the same time, with our new brewery ‘Tap Yard Bar’ joining The Old Ale House in a June opening. As Betty would say, good things come to those who wait!
We’ll be bringing back our famous skillets, which go perfectly with the craft beer and real cider drinks offering. Other updates will include a new hot drinks menu with incredible coffee from Round Hill Roastery and delicious cakes in the daytime. Pop in when you’re in Truro shopping with the family!
We’re also launching a new drinks menu with an extended selection of Gin and Vodka, and even more Rum to choose from! Plus we have a new Cocktail and Wine List. You’ll also find many new low and no-alcohol options too.
This first floor space is very much open for all drinks throughout the day and night – perfect if you want a slightly quieter setting to catch up with friends after so many months apart.
For ease you’ll be able to order through our new App wherever you are in the pub, but if you need any help deciding which craft beer to try just give us a shout! As ever you can expect a mighty crowd of the most sought-after guest keg beers, freshly drawn from our famous Wall of Beer. Our approachable, knowledgeable staff will help you navigate the selection, with ⅓ pint beer flights available for those who love to dabble, and pitchers of ale for groups of friends to share.
As you would expect, our freshest brews will make their way over to The Old Ale House (we’re talking beer yards, rather than beer miles!) and we’ll be celebrating the reopening with kegs of our new Cornish session ale Chapel Rock as well as the rest of the Skinner’s range.
Everything will be spruced up and gleaming, ready to welcome you all. We’ve even continued our brand doodles that began over the road at Skinner’s HQ…
Other than that you’ll find this lovely atmospheric old pub much as you left it; alongside our full Skinner’s range it’ll be packed with possibly the largest choice of spirits, craft beer and real cider in the South West, and staffed by great team.
The Old Ale House is a friendly, safe space in the heart of the city where everyone is welcome and made to feel comfortable. With the promise of live music and a food offering we know you’ll love, we are working on turning our little corner of Cornwall into a buzzing social destination once again.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
